ART IN THE PARK:ANIMALS THREATENED WITH EXTINCTION WORKSHOP & PARADE
Saturday 7th August
10am – 4:30pm followed by a parade at 5pm
Jephson Gardens (near the Glasshouse by the elephant seat), Newbold Terrace, Leamington Spa, CV32 4AA
Did you know that since the start of human civilisation 83% of wild mammals have been lost? Or that here in the UK, the hedgehog population has rapidly declined from an estimated 30 million in the 1950’s to potentially less than 1 million today? Please come along to our stall at Art in the Park and learn more!
We are delighted to be able to offer a workshop for both adults and children with a professional carnival artist where there will be a wonderful opportunity to make face masks of endangered animals and insects or get involved in helping make large model animals ready for a ‘Parade Against Extinction’ around Jephson Gardens at 5pm.
There'll also be a Wildlife Quiz... with prizes! Plus information about Extinction Rebellion and other organisations campaigning to protect wildlife from extinction.
It’s a FREE event including all materials, and guidance. And need to book, just turn up and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. The parade will also be open to all especially to children wanting to show off their face masks or animal creations made earlier on in the day. We look forward to seeing you there!
