A new rebellion is approaching

XRUK be returning to Parliament on 1 September. The scientists are telling us climate change is happening faster than they predicted. Even the Government's own committee has warned we're heading for a 4°C world.

The next UK Rebellion will start when the UK Parliament is due to sit again. We will peacefully blockade the area around the Houses of Parliament until the Government agrees that they will respond to our three demands.

XRWD Local Group Meeting & Other Events

It's the 4th Tuesday of the month on 23rd June, so it's Local Group Meeting time again! This is an open event for all. We'd love to see new and familiar faces, to share ideas and discuss what's happening within XR Warwick District.

The meeting will take place on Tuesday 23rd June, 7.30-9pm, on zoom.

There’s lots of energy for different XR activities locally at the moment so we’ll be hearing what’s developed since our last meeting and discussing future plans, as well as having a chance to check in with each other and enjoy some regen. Bring your thoughts, ideas and any items you'd like to share and get feedback on. All welcome!

A glimpse of the future

For the last couple of years, I have been writing a book on Climate Change, I can see how the current situation, with the COVID 19, is similar to the effect climate change is going to have on our world in the future. I have written chapters on the possible future scenarios, COVID 19 has closed down our usual social and economic systems and climate change in the future will do the same thing.

#NHSnotHS2 - Help from Home

High Speed 2 (HS2) is BAD. Really bad...

The new high speed railway, built by a Government company, will:

  • Costs £110 billion (taxpayers)

  • £4K per household!

Coronavirus and the Climate Crisis

6 months ago, if we’d taken a glimpse into 2020, we’d have been shocked by what we saw. Air travel all but abandoned, the roads curiously quiet, air pollution halved in some cities. A sudden shift in our mindsets: a realisation that we are vulnerable - and from that the fostering of greater empathy and care for one another.
